My name is Lisa Favre and I am the food blogger behind Marble Crumbs.
Having a bit of experience in the blogosphere, I decided it was time to create a website where I could share my stories that revolved around food. I don’t know about you, but conversations with my family and friends often consist of these phrases: “Want to go out for coffee sometime?” / “Have you ever tried…” / “Please come over for supper, we haven’t seen each other in eons!” / “Do you want a bite?” / “Did you pack a lunch?” (Guilty: This line is often delivered by my mother, who in her overprotective state still asks this question even though I am grown, working, independent, and married woman.)
I am in no way claiming to be an expert food connoisseur – but I do know a thing or two. I am lucky enough to have been exposed to all sorts of culinary styles through my heritage, my years of travel, and a wide range of friends with the most interesting backgrounds and experiences. I can’t stick to one style of cuisine: thanks to my mother’s influence (she’s from the Philippines) and my husband’s constant reminiscing of his childhood meals (he was born in Switzerland), I’ve learned to accommodate my cooking style so that we can all have a little bit of everything.
But it doesn’t stop there.
I’ll never hesitate to walk into a new restaurant, daringly try a questionable dish, and either love it or learn from my mistakes. That’s the whole fun in food.
Currently, I live in Montreal (Quebec), Canada but I’ve got family all over the map. Between my husband and I, we have places in Europe, Asia, the U.S., and South America that we can rightfully call our ‘second home.’
So, welcome. You’ll be following me through the ups and downs of experimental recipes, restaurant-hopping, and anything else that tickles my fancy (and palette).
…because every great meal holds a great story: down to the last crumb.
