Sundays are made for brunching – especially at my favorite market, Marché des Éclusiers.
You can only imagine how excited I was when I heard that Sunday brunch was officially being served at Marché des Éclusiers. I imagined it right there and then: dining at the sunny top floor of Old Montreal’s newest and trendiest farmer’s market, basking in the sunshine’s rays, and enjoying the most delectable dishes. Yes, yes, and yes.
Naturally, I had Joe accompany me for our first farmer’s-market-brunch and the dining experience was exactly how I envisioned it. It was hard to make a final choice from their menu because selfishly, we wanted every single item. Finally, I opted for a BLT bagel (which was ultra fresh) and Joe went for their breakfast poutine (topped with a perfectly poached egg). As a starter, we were served yogurt and granola in a mason jar (cuteness à la max). The blackberries and strawberries that topped off our yogurt were so fresh that they burst in my mouth with ultimate sweetness (I may have taken a couple from Joe’s jar when he wasn’t looking – I couldn’t resist).
If you spend your Sundays scouring the city for your next best brunch, then make Marché des Éclusiers your next stop. You will have no regrets, I can guarantee it.
Here’s to more Sunday brunches – you’ll know where to find us.
