My Ventures in Food Photography

Taking a closer look at my food photography skills

When I started blogging two years ago, a part of me did it because I had this secret love for photography. Of course, there was the aspect of storytelling and while I always loved putting words to paper, I thought the combination of photographs and beautifully structured sentences made the perfect combination to get my message across to an audience. Blogging was just a natural fit.

Two years later I ventured off into the food niche, hence starting Marble Crumbs. I am totally loving my experience in the food industry: developing recipes, reviewing restaurants, etc. Most importantly, I can’t help but notice how different foods and dishes become some of my most interesting subjects for my photographs.

As if I weren’t busy enough, I recently decided to join a few workshops and classes to elevate my food photography and it’s been such an amazing ride. I am learning so much from different experts in the field. It’s really fun to see what questions my classmates will come up with (and sometimes I hope that it’s a silly-ish question that I’m just too shy to ask myself).

What are some of your hobbies? Let me know and comment below!

    • Dana,

Thank you so so so much! That’s really kind of you! The classes I’m taking right now are fantastic and are really having understand my DSLR better. You should look into it and see if there’s anything in your area in terms of evening classes or workshops. It’s totally worth it.

  1. Love photography myself!! There’s so much you can do with just the set up of your prop that can make the biggest difference… lighting, background color, angle… so much!!

Love what you did with the shot of your pan with butter!

  2. I love photography too – it’s one of my favourite hobbies and it’s one of my favourite parts of blogging. I’d love to take a course on photography but I just don’t have the time. Looking forward to seeing more of your pictures in the future. Good luck xxx
