A Foodie Gift Guide
Got a food-lover in your life? Stuck on what to get them? Let me show you the way with my foodie gift guide.
A Lemon Loaf For A Lazy Monday
I took the day off last Monday to spend time with my two nieces. Between shopping, binge-watching our favorite television shows, and napping, we decided to bake a lemon loaf.
Marché des Éclusiers
Calling all Montrealers: Marché des Éclusiers is a new market in town and it’s definitely something to check out.
The Old Port has always been one of my favorite places to visit. Whether it’s on a date with Joe or if I’m taking out-of-town family on a walking tour, the scenery is just so beautiful and it’s incredibly rich in history. Now, Old Montreal has just stepped up its game with a brand-spankin’ new farmer’s market: Marché des Éclusiers. We were lucky enough to check it out last weekend and I must say, I’m already itching to go back.
Macarons From Duc de Lorraine
I know I’ve gushed about Duc de Lorraine in the past, but there’s a reason why it’s my favorite French bakery in Montreal. Everything they have is made to perfection and it’s the closest thing I’ve found to a full-on Parisian dining experience within the boundaries of my home city. I remember falling in love with macarons nearly ten years ago (yes folks, before they became the main subject of your travel photos on Instagram). Ever since, I was on a long search to find some more. Lo and behold, the Duc has finally done it for me.
Last week, I decided to treat myself and so I purchased a small box to take home. Biting into the Duc’s macarons, you’ll find that their meringue is baked ever-so-carefully, offering a great, crisp texture and a delicious filling in-between (it bursts with genuine flavor).
When we ordered our wedding cake from the Duc, we requested that it be covered with navy blue macarons to match our color theme. I must say, the wedding cake spoke for itself on our big day: our guests were in awe with its creation, taste, and overall artistry. It was truly an edible masterpiece. See it for yourself here.
Okay, here are some pictures for you to drool over. Bon appetit (in a visual type of way)!
